A group of SFUPS members have been enjoying South Florida Black Water diving.
Black Water diving is a different kind of night dive where you go several miles off shore and drift in the darkness. Though you are relatively shallow, usually between 10 and 40 feet, the bottom is 400 + feet below so good buoyancy skills are a must. Each night a myriad of planktonic and bizarre creatures migrate upward from the depths, making each dive a completely different experience.
Photographing these creatures is difficult to say the least, but it is also very addictive. This gallery will give you an idea of what a small group of people have accomplished in just a few dives.
