Information about the equipment we provide at our in-person meetings:
The meeting room at the Aloft Hotel is equipped with a projector, projector screen, built-in sound system, and wireless microphones. Only a single HDMI connection is required. You need only bring yourself and your presentation on your laptop (PC or Mac) or thumb drive. Many presenters opt to bring their program on a thumb drive and show it from our computer. This way we don’t have to worry about setting up your own computer. You may also send your program ahead of time so we can test it and have it ready for the meeting. If you want to do this, you can upload it via WeTransfer to audiovisual@sfups.org. If you have agreed to allow us to videotape your presentation, we would appreciate having a copy of your original file so we can edit the slides into the completed video we post for our members later. Including the original slides results in a much better-quality finished product than videotaping projected images on a screen and illustrates your points more clearly.
We can accommodate your computer whether it has an HDMI, DVI-1, Component, RGB, Analog, or S-Video terminals. Our presentations are done using a “PC” computer, however, we can and do accommodate presenters who use a Mac or Apple type of computer, and we have most of the adaptor cables needed to connect your Mac or Apple to our projector.
If you are using a Macintosh OSX computer, you will need to open the Apple menu and select “System Environment Settings”. Then click the “Display” icon to display the Display window. Select the Display tab and select “1400 x 1050” or a resolution closest to this output signal from your resolution list. Close the System Environment Setting window.
