2015 CONTEST SUBJECTS

OCTOBER

MASTERS

GHOULISH – (ANY LENS) – A scary face can be anything that even mimics a scary face (abstracts ok too).

CHALLENGERS

ORANGE AND PURPLE – (MACRO) – Halloween colors. The colors orange and purple OR orange and black must both be in the image.

NOVEMBER

MASTERS

PORTFOLIO – THREE FAVORITE PHOTOS – (ANY LENS) – Submit three of your favorite shots taken anywhere this year. Subject matter is open. We will be checking the dates on the metadata so please make sure to include the EXIF metadata when you export your photos. Less than 20% crop please. One contest entry will consist of three photos.

CHALLENGERS

BIG FISH PORTRAIT – (WIDE ANGLE) – Eyes must be looking at us; Examples are: barracuda, sharks, grouper, whale sharks, stingray, eagle rays, sunfish, etc.

PHOTO CONTEST RULES & SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Photos must be taken underwater by the entrant. No aquarium or pool shots.

Each month the contest is divided into two categories – Masters and Challengers, each with different subjects to promote participation by all SFUPS members of all skill levels.

NOTE:

If you are uncertain about what qualifies in a category, please consult a reputable guidebook such as Humann/DeLoach’s reef set. If still in doubt, contact Eleanor Hornberger well before the contest. She will be happy to clarify a potential submission to confirm if it fits the category.
