CARIBBEAN REEF LIFE: FROM CAMERA TO COVER - WITH MICKEY CHARTERIS

Mickey Charteris was raised in South Africa, where his love of the ocean began, and has now been diving professionally for almost 25 years. Most of that time has been with a camera. He lives on Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands in Honduras, where he now runs the Photo/Video center at CoCo View resort.
He is the author of Caribbean Reef Life, A Field Guide for Divers. The book has just been released as an expanded 4th edition with over 1800 reef inhabitants photographed and described. Mickey’s work covers the full range of the Caribbean’s biodiversity – from marine plants to sponges and corals, invertebrates and fishes. More than just an ID book, it aims to give divers a deeper understanding of these dynamic ecosystems and how different species, including our own, contribute to the reef as a whole.
