FEBRUARY 17TH 2026, 6.45PM: IN-PERSON MEETING ONLY
KAITLYN MCQUEENEY: MY JOURNEY AS A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER AND WILDLIFE GUIDE
The purpose of this talk is to share some stories from varied locations and species interactions, the Olympus and Sony camera setups I use, ethical operations to collaborate with, and my general philosophies on diving and photography.

Kaitlynn was fortunate enough to spend summers in Cape Cod, during a unique time ecologically speaking. Her visits coincided with the restoration of the local seal colony, leading to a resurgence in the great white shark population. As a young person hearing about these animals in the local news, a source of shark fascination within her bloomed into a passion resulting in her earning a dive master certification.
At the same time, Kaitlynn ‘s trusty Olympus tg4 was never too far from her hands, and she began sharing her photos with guests and colleagues. While nourishing this talent, she starting sell her work to guests on the liveaboards she was working on – in addition to prints for those that weren’t there in the moment but loved to imagine that they were.
Kaitlynn has also contributed to worldwide organizations, filling the role of citizen scientist for such varied and worthy groups as:
- Manta Pacific Research Foundation
- Marine Megafauna Foundation
- Hawaii Uncharted Research Collective
- Shark Tagger Hawaii
