JULY 2022 GUEST SPEAKER – YURY IVANOV

VIVID COLORS OF THE SEA

With Yury Ivanov

Yury will share his love for the underwater macro world’s beauty and his skills with us,
focusing on nudibranchs (sea slugs) and some other small marine creatures.
He will also talk a bit about underwater macro videography.

I’m a professional diver and a renowned underwater macro photographer with more than 25 international awards.
I joined PADI in 2006 and nowadays I’m a PADI Dive Master with a certificate of “Self-Reliant Diver” and more than 10,000 dives.

Since the age of ten, I was interested in the underwater world. I graduated from Sevastopol School of diving where I dived with a copper, brass three-bolt Soviet diving helmet and AVM-5.

I’ve been diving worldwide: Egypt, the Black Sea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Maldives, Palau, and Thailand. These days I’m spending most of my time in Bali, Indonesia because of my special interest in the underwater macro world and mostly nudibranchs.

Now I have thousands of excellent photos of lots of different species, and I even discovered one myself. The latest award I got is for my photo of Phyllodesmium iriomotense at Scuba Diving Magazine’s 2020 Underwater Photo Contest.

I’m here to share the love for the underwater macro world’s beauty and my skills with you. Learn the formula for perfect underwater macro photography with me!
