Turtle Cleaning: Could not ask for a better subject!
Manta Magic: Always be willing to try something new, even if it seems nuts. Like using only ambient light on a night dive! I had done the Kona night manta dive before and struggled with strobe back-scatter spoiling shots, so I turned them off. The images were a bit noisy, but I found that the soft-focus effect of noise reduction added a dreamy quality that enhanced rather than detracted from the shot.
Longnose Butterflyfish: I find that head on shots of fish are tricky and don’t usually work. It’s all about the eye contact, you have to get both. Big Island, Hawaii 2017.
