I grew up in Michigan but started diving on vacation when I was 11. I did a handful of dives but then school sports started and family vacations to the islands stopped.
After a 15 year diving hiatus, I moved to Florida in 2012 and joined a cousin on a dive boat. I was blown away by the photographs from one of the other divers and decided that I needed to figure it out. I learned how to use a camera on land, did about 100 dives, and then finally felt comfortable buying an underwater housing and strobes in 2015.
I’m still using a Nikon D7100 and 2 Ikelite DS161 strobes. I use an assortment of lenses (10.5mm, 60mm, 105mm), wet lenses (Subsee +5, +10), and recently picked up a Retra LSD. I enjoy traveling and have been diving in Alaska, Cayman, Roatan, Bonaire, Maldives, Lembeh, Tulamben, Gili Islands, Anilao, Malapascua, Sipadan, and the Phi Phi Islands.
