DAVID HEIDEMANN

I am so excited to join the SFUPS. I am blown away by the tremendously beautiful and varied gallery images shown on this page and am really looking forward to meeting fellow underwater photographers and learning much, much more.
I live in Detroit and had limited opportunity to dive until recently. Diving the Blue Heron Bridge is my absolute favorite activity; there is always something unique (to me) to photograph, and most adverse conditions don’t result in a cancelled dive.
As you might note from my gallery, I am interested in eye evolution. I enjoy capturing macro images that demonstrate the amazing ocular adaptations aquatic animals have evolved to help them thrive in their unique niches. My current setup includes a Nikon 7100, Ikelite housing and strobes, Retra snoot, and various teleconverters, wet, and dry diopters.
