I am a college student studying biology at Florida Atlantic University’s Wilkes Honors College. The natural world has been my biggest passion since I was a very young child. Growing up in Chicago, IL, my love of the ocean started early with my family’s vacations to the Cayman Islands, where I began snorkeling and fell in love with the underwater world. I also began my photography journey from a young age with a point-and-shoot camera I used to take photos of birds. My family and I relocated to Jupiter, FL in August 2023, where I could finally never leave the ocean and I learned to freedive and scuba dive! Living in South Florida has been a dream come true for a nature and ocean enthusiast like me, and I will never look back. Upon moving to Florida, I immediately knew I wanted to take photos underwater. I began with a DJI Osmo Action 4 and a SeaLife SportDiver phone case. In August 2025, I upgraded to a Canon EOS R7 in an Ikelite housing. I am still new to underwater photography, and I can’t wait to learn more and advance my skills!
For my Honors Thesis, I am studying the non-native Thrush Cowrie which has recently been introduced in Florida waters. I look forward to using underwater photography in my thesis and practicing macro photography more.
When I am not in the water freediving, scuba diving, and open-water swimming, I am taking photos of Florida wildlife on land, hunting for shark teeth at Juno Beach, and spending time with my 7 pet birds and my dog, Bailey.
