I started diving in 1988 in the Red Sea when I lived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with my family. In 2008, after a long break from diving, I got my first underwater camera, a Nikon L20 point and shoot. Several years later I upgraded to a Sony RX100 II compact, and now I shoot with a Canon R10 mirrorless in an Ikelite housing with Sea and Sea strobes. In July 2026 I moved to Lake Worth Beach, Florida after living in Italy for 6 years.
The last few years I have focused mostly on macro photography and blackwater, travelling to Anilao in the Philippines and Raja Ampat in Indonesia. I’m always interested in learning new techniques to make my photos more engaging and to convey an emotion or give a sense of place to the viewer.
