Photography has always been a creative outlet for me. I first discovered my passion for capturing moments above water, photographing my daughter’s horse shows, as well as her and her friends through proms and their senior years. Those experiences taught me to look for small details and fleeting moments that tell a bigger story.
As a Dive Master with a love for the ocean, it felt natural to bring my camera underwater and merge two passions into one. I began my journey in underwater photography by taking a class with Mickey Charteris at CocoView, which opened my eyes to the artistry and technical skills required to capture life beneath the surface. Since then, I have found a vibrant and supportive community at Blue Heron Bridge, where I continue to learn, experiment, and grow alongside other passionate photographers.
Underwater photography has become more than just a hobby—it’s been a wonderful journey of exploration, creativity, and connection. Each dive brings new surprises, and each photograph is a chance to share the beauty, personality, and mystery of the underwater world with others.
I keep it simple and shoot with an Olympus TG6, AOI Q1 Ultra Compact Strobe, Backscatter M52, and Underwater 81-degree Wide Air Lens. I edit in Lightroom.
