Opening with some more common reef shots, Nigel’s presentation will then continue onto colder waters and the surprisingly colorful life that can be found there.  Focusing on his home country of Ireland, he talks about the profusion of life to be discovered and how the currents and the islands physical features shape the ecosystem.  Although he highlights the seals, dolphins, blue sharks and other life that abounds, the star of the presentation is his wonderfully insightful and beautiful segment on the local basking shark population.  Alongside the lovely images of the sharks he shares their recent history as well as his own personal journey with them.  His vision helps expose the cold and stunning underwater world in a region little known for its diving much less photographic opportunity.
