Join underwater photographer and conservationist Kaitlyn McQueeney for a talk about working with, and photographing, sharks, manta rays, and other large pelagics. She shares her experiences in Hawaii, the Bahamas, and elsewhere working with the scientific community and imaging for clients. For Kaitlyn, photography and conservation can go hand in hand. Not only in the field as a skillset but also for spreading awareness to the public at large.
Starting with an Olympus TG4, she now shoots with a Sony A74 almost exclusively with ambient light. She shares some of her strategies for working with, and not against, the animals to get the shot.
Kaitlynn has contributed to worldwide organizations, filling the role of citizen scientist for such varied and worthy groups as the Manta Pacific Foundation, the Marine Megafauna Foundation, Hawaii Uncharted Research Collective, and Shark Tagger Hawaii.
